Camp Dates & Hours: June 3rd-July 26^th, Monday-Friday

Camp Training Dates: May 28, May 29, May 30 4:00pm-6:00pm 

8:15am-4:15pm. Flexible/Part Time hours are available. Additional hours may be available with the camp after care program.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

The Orchard Summer Camp is seeking innovative, dynamic, collaborative part time or full-time counselors for their Summer Camp programs. Primary responsibilities include assisting Camp Coordinators with the daily programming related to the camp.  Counselors take direction from coordinators during this time as to how best to help with the activities planned for the day.  Counselors are paired with a different camp(s) each week. 

Other tasks include supervising playground time, lunch time, and transition times throughout the camp day.  Counselors are responsible for the safety of the children first and foremost.  This means their physical safety, as well as their emotional and social safety. 

Campers come to Orchard Summer Camp from all over Indianapolis and surrounding communities.  It is a counselor’s job to help every child feel comfortable, relate to others and have a memorable camp experience.

- Experience, affinity and enthusiasm for working with children ages 3-8^th grade.

- Ability to make the summer camp environment fun, innovative, caring and a safe place for campers

- Excellent communication skills

- Demonstrated history of energy and dynamism with children

- Willingness to learn and improve professionally

- Sound judgment and emotional maturity
