Founded in 1922, Orchard is an independent, non-sectarian, progressive school for 550 students in preschool through the 8th grade. Position Summary
The Orchard School is seeking dynamic, and collaborative elementary and middle school substitute teachers. The successful candidates will put children at the center of their own learning, facilitate engaging hands-on project-based learning, and understand elementary and middle school child development. Ideally, the candidates would have a passion for diversity, equity, and social justice work and training.
 
Qualifications and Attributes
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A commitment to education
  • Ability to carry out hands-on, experiential learning activities that advance the targeted learning outcomes
  • Affinity and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Capacity to inspire children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound judgment and emotional maturity
