For decades Orchard students have harvested sap from the majestic maple trees on our campus and learned the science behind converting it to syrup. Typically, their hard work is followed up by the annual Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Alumni Heritage Association (AHA). Since we weren’t able to come together as a community, Orchard's Development Department and the AHA switched gears to host a drive-thru version of the beloved event. Many Orchard Owls joined us this morning to celebrate the sticky-sweet success of our students!

Our first graders collected 480 gallons of sap this year. When processed, this became 12 gallons of syrup for this year’s Pancake Breakfast. Amazing work, kids! #amazing


This year's Drive Thru Pancake Breakfast was held in memory of Ann Dean '34. Ann and her husband, Noble, both attended Orchard starting an Orchard legacy lasting three generations. Ann and Noble's two children, Tom and Maggy both attended Orchard as well as Tom and beloved Orchard librarian, Karen Dean's three children Noble, Benjamin, and Kate. Ann was also a founding member of Orchard's Alumni Heritage Association which has hosted the Pancake Breakfast since its inception.

The Drive Thru Pancake Breakfast helped us in raising over $50,000 for the Ann Dean Fund!
