Making a Difference
Second-grade students are learning about those who have made a difference in our community and around the world! Children picked an area where people have become a change maker from three categories: environmental change, innovative advancement or social justice work. Within the chosen category, second-graders chose a person who impacted that area.
After researching that person or organization, they created a presentation about how they saw progress being made by their chosen change maker. A sampling of change makers presented included the Mary Robinson Foundation, Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Ruby Bridges. We are proud of our sensational second graders for showing us their perspective on how these great people have transformed the lives of others and the world around us!
