The Position
The Floating Food Service Worker provides flexible, hands-on support across all kitchen stations, assisting with food preparation, cooking, serving, cleaning, and inventory management to ensure efficient service and adherence to health standards. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Assist with chopping vegetables, preparing meats, assembling dishes, and setting up serving lines.
  • Cooking Support: Help cooks on the line, learn and execute recipes, and operate kitchen equipment safely.
  • Cleaning & Sanitation: Wash dishes, pots, and utensils; clean and sanitize work areas, floors, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Stocking & Inventory: Receive deliveries, organize stock (following FIFO), label items, date products, and monitor supply levels to minimize waste.
  • Station Support: Move between prep, cooking, dishwashing, and serving areas to relieve staff, restock stations, and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous service to guests when serving food.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company hygiene standards, food safety regulations (HACCP), and use personal protective equipment (PPE). 
 
Physical Demands
  • Standing, talking, listening, tasting, smelling, and vision
  • Frequent walking and reaching with hands and arms
  • Regular lifting up to 25 pounds; Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
 
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Prior relevant experience in Food Service.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, temperature logs, and safety rules.
  • Ability to work in multiple areas of the kitchen.
  • Ability to communicate in a noisy environment
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to follow instructions, and maintain cleanliness.
