Middle School Spanish Teacher

The Position
The Orchard School is seeking an innovative, dynamic, collaborative teacher with a strong background in Spanish who can enhance the current program. The successful candidate will also be an advisor, teach or co-teach a winter intensive class, and assist in chaperoning the class on an overnight trip.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish, education, or related field
- Bi-lingual/ fluent in both English and Spanish
- Knowledge and experience teaching the four areas of language acquisition
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with middle school students
- Ability to write narrative assessments
- Understanding of developmental stages of middle schoolers
- Understanding of multiple learning styles and differentiated instruction
- A commitment to progressive education
- Ability to design hands-on, experiential learning activities that advance the targeted learning outcomes
- Ability to work with technology to support, supplement, and enhance teaching and learning
- Willingness to learn and improve professionally
- Ability to collaborate and work with a team
- Ability to work with parents in a thoughtful and proactive manner
- Willingness to engage in all aspects of the Orchard community
