Kindergarten Students Race to Celebrate the 100th Day of Orchard’s 100th Year

Racers, start your engines! Today was the Kindy 100 to celebrate kindergarten’s 100th day of school! Students did race-themed activities that involved counting to 100, had a dance party, and had a fabulous car parade around the Green—families came to cheer them on! They finished off their celebration by watching the movie Cars!

Finally, students got to meet Zero the Hero, someone whom they've received mystery letters from on days that end in 0. They danced, counted, and worked out with Zero before he had to fly off to another school to celebrate another 100th day. Thank you to Delbert Britt Jr (Kindergarten teacher Taleesha Martin’s brother) for being Zero the Hero.

This is such a great example of the importance of making learning memorable and fun because when students love what they’re doing, the sky’s the limit when you integrate academics.
