I want to say thank you to The Orchard School family for all of the wonderful years I have had in this community. From early rising and fun evenings in Kids Connect to ensuring the kiddos have an awesome lunch service, I think of the children as if they are my own. I remember a time when students would ask their parents to bring them to morning Kids Connect because they found out the early Kids Connect students were getting breakfast. One student brought eggs, and I made pancakes. It was a great morning! I have so many memories and stories to reflect on from my 21 years here.

As I continue to think back over my time at Orchard, I feel grateful for the connections and the everlasting friendships I have made. I want to give a shout out to Kids Connect Extended Program Manager Cindy Larsen and my Aladdin Food Services family for also being a big part of my success within the Orchard community.
Thank you all for the love and well wishes as I retire.

    Regina, I was at Orchard from pre-school 3/4s-8 grade. And yours is a face that I remember often when I think back on my time at that school. One I could never forget! And I’m sure I speak for many of us, since you are who would greet us after we stormed into the cafeteria after gym or recess. Smiley fries, “Mexican straw hats”, tomato soup and grilled cheese, and the chocolate pudding with Oreos and gummy worms were my favorites served by you and always with a smile. Even when kids would bang against the wooden doors in line at the hot-line or rush and push to the front on the days with the best lunch. Then one time I dumped my retainer in the trash can after lunch, and there you were laughing and wishing me good luck. That was almost 9 years ago. And now my little brother knows your smiling face in line at the deli when he orders his ham sandwich on white bread. You’ve taken care of generations of Orchard families and we appreciate you so much!

    Ms. Thomas you have been a bright light for so many years. It was wonderful to bring the young ones down to meet you. I will miss so much seeing you when I am in to visit. You will be missed.
