Orchard First Grade Students Collected Over 600 Gallons of Sap During Science Class

Final stats are in for our first grade students!

-640 gallons of sap
-68 spiles
-36 buckets
-4 cords of firewood
-100+ hours of work
-10 volunteers
-And....16 GALLONS of maple syrup made for one successful syrup season.

Huge thanks to Orchard teacher, Mrs. P, for going the extra mile and working long hours to make sure our students had a joyful learning experience in math and science class.

Only at Orchard will you find young students identifying and measuring trees, correctly hammering in spiles, and using conversions to turn sap into syrup.
