Orchard Auction

We hope you’ll join us to party with a purpose at The Orchard School’s 2020 Auction, presented by The National Bank of Indianapolis and Diamond Capital Management! Through the Orchard Parents’ Association, we’re excited to present the social event of the year that’s also our one and only chance to raise crucial funds for teacher development and special student activities.
One Great School, One Great Night on Friday, Feb. 7, is so much more than an auction! You can mix, mingle and make a difference for Orchard students while you dine, imbibe, socialize, win prizes and dance to the folk-to-funk vibe of Dave & Rae. Everyone from Orchard—parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, alumni and friends—can attend!

  • What exactly is The Orchard School’s Auction?

Well, we do call it an auction but One Great School, One Great Night is so much more than that! The event is a party with a purpose, a dinner, a dance; a chance to mix, mingle AND bid during live and silent auctions on Friday, Feb. 7. Starting at 6:30 p.m., guests can:

    • Enjoy and dance to live music from Dave & Rae!
    • Dine on gourmet apps, entrees and desserts
    • Imbibe complimentary beer, wine, champagne and signature cocktails
    • Bid on the Orchard Gems: Orchard-specific experiences and prizes
    • Win a game, puzzle during the game pull
Prior to the Auction, there will be an awards reception at The Willows from 5:30-6:30 PM. During the reception, we will honor this year's Orchard Heritage Award winners.
  • Who can go?

Everyone—grandparents, teachers, staff, alumni and friends (but no kids!). It’s THE social event of the year, the one adults-only party from the Orchard Parents’ Association and the best chance to honor all things Orchard.
  • Who benefits from the money raised?

Every one of our kids. Tuition only covers 76 percent of educational costs and funds raised through bidding, sponsorships, ticket sales and onsite activities support teacher development, student activities and the other important work of The Orchard School.
  • Are discounted tickets available?

If you purchase tickets before Dec. 20 at midnight, tickets are $80 each, 4-pack for $300 or reserve a table for $800. Buy tickets here or find the auction table at Winter Pageant to sign up. Tickets after Dec. 20 are $130 per person or reserve a table for $1,300.
  • I had a hard time finding a seat last year, can I just reserve a table?

Yes! We have included the option this year to reserve a table for ten people. The price is $800 to reserve a table if you purchase by 12/20. The price will increase after 12/20 to $1,300 per table. Click here to reserve your table today!
  • Do I need to wear a formal gown or tuxedo?

No, unless formal gowns and tuxedos are your version of ‘casual attire.’ Hula skirts, cute boots and jeans, comfy dancing shoes, anything sold in the Owls’ Nest, it all applies. “Diversity is a Given” at Orchard so you do you. No one comes to judge, just to have a good time!
  • This isn't just another rubber chicken dinner, is it?

NoThere might be chicken but it won’t be rubbery! Gourmet food stations will include something for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Plus the beer, wine, champagne and signature cocktails are complimentary!
  • Do I have to bid on something?

Not at all. The price of your ticket includes a contribution back to the school, plus there’ll be plenty to do otherwise and it’s a hoot to watch those with means shell out. But it can be fun if you do!
  • Am I going to know anyone there?

Yes, especially if you bring someone you do know with you! Again this year, there will be a four-ticket package for $300 if you buy before Dec. 20 at midnight. You’ll also know the teachers and the staff and everyone will have a name tag so it will be easy to remember names.
  • Will I have a good time?

Absolutely! The Orchard Parents’ Association has responded to feedback so there will be a new auctioneer for the live items this year, getting you back to the dance floor faster. There aren’t assigned seats so you can sit with whomever you’d like. And the silent auction will open ahead of time so you can bid before you come! Priceless. See you then!
