Parents' Association

One of The Orchard School’s staples is “Parents as Partners,” and the involvement of families is part of the foundation that helps our children, our school and our community thrive. The Orchard School has an active Parents’ Association comprised of all Orchard parents and led by an executive board. The Parents’ Association (the “PA”) supports both the school and the parent community by organizing events and activities focused on community building. The PA hosts the family-oriented Fall Festival, The Orchard School Day of Service/Earth Day, Teacher-Staff Appreciation days, The Orchard School Auction and concession stands at sporting events for fundraising.

The Orchard School Families Project

What's your definition of family? Although the dictionary has multiple definitions of family, the meaning of the word is special to the individual. The Orchard School Families Project was designed as a way to build connections and celebrate the families we have in our Orchard community.

The project is very simple: what does family mean to you? We ask families to answer very simple and fun questions that explain what makes their families unique. We hope you will take the time to get to learn more about the families that make up our community.

  • Amazon Smile

    Sign up for the Amazon Smile program and designate Orchard as your charity. Orchard will receive 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible items. To sign up, go to: https://smile.amazon.com/about. Select Orchard School Foundation, Inc. as your designated charity. Orchard started participating in the spring of 2015.
  • Art to Remember

    Art to Remember is a fundraising project of the Parents’ Association that takes place in the fall. Students create art projects and parents can order quality keepsakes that include images of student masterpieces. Contact PA president Sarah Edwards if you’d like to get involved with Art to Remember.
     
  • Box Tops for Education

    Box Tops for Education
    Families at The Orchard School collect Box Tops for Education symbols off of packages from participating companies and the school receives 10 cents per symbol submitted. Collection dates are in October and February. Learn more and contact Sarah Edwards with questions.
     
  • Concessions

    The Orchard School Parents’ Association provides concessions during sporting events at school. Volunteers are needed to run concession stands during games. Contact PA president Sarah Edwards if you’d like to help!
  • Customized Spirit Gear

    Order customized gear with the colors and logos of The Orchard School to show your school spirit!
     
  • Kroger

    Register your Kroger Plus card at www.krogercommunityrewards.com, selecting The Orchard School Foundation as your donation recipient. Every time you shop for groceries and swipe your card, The Orchard School earns a rebate.
     
  • Owls' Nest

    The Owls’ Nest is The Orchard School’s spirit wear store, operated by the Parents’ Association. The store is located in the center and new items are added throughout the school year. Choose your item and fill out a purchase form to submit to the front desk.
  • Shop With Scrip

    The Orchard School community can purchase gift cards from various retailers through the Shop With Scrip fundraising program. The school receives a percentage of the face value of the gift card to support annual giving.
