Documentary: Orchard Students “Dig” Into Academics During Innovative Hands-On Project

Journey through the entire process as seventh grade students at The Orchard School uncover more than just artifacts during their week-long, all-day intensive archaeology project.

This study incorporates a number of disciplines, both leading up to and during the project itself. Working as a team to accomplish their objectives, students integrated skills from math, social studies, English, science and art.

“The Dig” is a long-standing Orchard tradition because it fits into the very core of what a Progressive education is all about; students involved in active, authentic learning where multiple perspectives are valued and varied strengths lead to success.
