This past weekend 38 middle school students performed "Peter Pan, Jr." for friends, family, and The Orchard School Community. Crew members began meeting after school in October to make props and build sets. Cast began rehearsals in January. All students had to memorize lines and blocking as well as learn songs and dances. Many dances were choreographed by students! In February, the cast and crew began meeting together and crew members began running lights, sound, props, curtains, and set changes.

Participating in a musical is a team effort. Each performance is student-run with the directors simply watching. Every student is vital to the performance and participants learn to trust each other and take responsibility in addition to problem-solving skills and confidence - plus it's just plain fun! It's a giant undertaking and these students are to be commended for their hard work and dedication to a well-done performance.

Congratulations to all!

Parents, we will send an email in the coming weeks with all of the high-resolution images, headshots, and a recording of the play.
