Orchard Students Earned 26 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals at ISSMA

On Saturday, January 26th and Saturday, February 2rd, Orchard Middle School music students competed in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Solo and Ensemble contest.

Orchard had 3 band students, 11 voice students, 4 piano students, and 16 orchestra students compete. They prepared solos or small ensembles and performed them for a judge who gave them comments and a rating. Some students even performed in more than one event!

All Orchard students earned medals – 26 Gold and 3 Silver. Eighth grade student, Grace, competed at the highest level and earned a silver medal. Congratulations, Grace!

Thank you to Suellen Sharp, Darren Lauria, and Dustin Klein for using your love of music to teach and inspire our students.
