Orchard Student Is the Youngest Indy Mini Marathon Ambassador, and He Needs Your Support!
At 13-years-old, David Beaty is officially the youngest Indy Mini Marathon Ambassador in the history of its program!
Last year, David was recognized by the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon after he appeared on WTHR Channel 13 news with his running partner and Orchard teacher, Allison Housefield. They received VIP access and priority parking to last year’s Mini. The news station picked up Orchard’s story of how an Orchard teacher used running to make a positive impact on one of her former students.
Today, the positivity continues for the Orchard seventh grader. David was picked to be an ambassador out of a record number of applicants for the 2019 Indy Mini Marathon. One of David's requirements is to get at least 10 people to register for the marathon.
