    5th Grade Humanities Teacher

    Job Summary:

    The Orchard School is seeking an innovative, dynamic, and collaborative 5th grade humanities teacher to join our faculty community. Primary responsibilities include teaching literature and language arts classes with a strong emphasis on differentiated instruction and student choice in reading. The successful candidate will put children at the center of their own learning, facilitate engaging hands-on project-based learning, and understand early adolescent development deeply. Orchard seeks an educator with a keen interest in technology and demonstrated experience utilizing it to engage students. Ideally, the candidate would have a passion for diversity, equity, and social justice work and training.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature or a closely related discipline

    A minimum of two years of Middle School classroom experience preferred

    Excellent communication skills

    Willingness to learn and improve professionally

    Sound judgment and emotional maturity

    Ability to collaborate and work with a team

    Willingness to engage in all aspects of the Orchard community
